The South Korean government establishes an inter-departmental agency to tackle AI crimes such as financial fraud and false advertising.

Golden Finance reports that the South Korean government has announced plans to establish a cross-departmental consultation body to address crimes carried out using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, such as digital-related crimes, financial fraud, and false advertising. This new body is called the “Cross-Departmental Consultation Body for Responding to Crimes Involving AI.” Its members come from 10 government departments, including the Korea Communications Commission, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Financial Services Commission, the National Police Agency, and others.
