Trump does not need to seek congressional approval to continue military actions against Iran

May 5, according to CCTV reports, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said today that, given that this administration has determined that the ceasefire between the United States and Iran is still being maintained, President Trump does not need to seek approval from Congress to continue war-related operations.

Hegseth insisted that if Trump orders the resumption of military strike operations, discussions on the relevant matters will naturally be held at that time.
