DeFi platform Sky's native token SKY rose nearly 10% after executing a governance proposal. The proposal reduced the rate at which new tokens are issued as staking rewards, expanded its USDS stablecoin lending ecosystem, and continued to advance a large-scale automatic buyback program. These adjustments include setting the staking rewards to distribute approximately 838.18 million tokens over 180 days (a reduction of about 161.82 million tokens from previous levels), as well as a buyback plan that has spent approximately $114.5 million to remove tokens from circulation. These changes are part of the industry-wide trend toward token models that aim to curb inflation and support token value.
